Not literally of course.
I was knocking my targets out of the park and being used as an example of how to do it.
Correlations between phone usage, call length, order conversion and renewal rate.
But there was so many more differences between me and some of my colleagues in our team that weren't considered and didn't ever hit anyones radar.
I was young, without real responsibilities, I had only a house and a car to pay for and that was that! I could take on the world.
One of my colleagues worked just as hard as I did, but he had a young child, a wife with post natal depression, 3 people relying on him and when he arrived to work having probably done what felt like a days work already he was then faced with the pressure of being compared to a young whipper snapper without a care in the world.
30 years on and I feel for him!! I get it...but do our employers? Do you?
Understanding our people and their challenges and experiences and finding ways to support that improves performance. The way we look after our people has to be different now.
